Why We Built This Site
Texas provides several public access channels, yet the key task is matching the question to the record keeper. DeWitt County Sheriff maintains jail and booking information. The County Clerk and District Clerk preserve filed cases and dispositions at different court levels. Texas DPS runs the statewide criminal-history repository, TDCJ handles state custody, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry serves community notification. We organize verified contacts, costs, search controls, and request steps for those offices.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Texas court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those limits mean:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that every posted fee, address, hour, or telephone number remains current
Only the sheriff, court clerk, Texas DPS, or other issuing agency can provide an official criminal record. We identify the source, but that office must issue the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes shown on some pages. They control their services, prices, data practices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. We do not set the provider's charges or decide which records it returns.
